Anyone get a house in the SF Bay Area with an inspection contingency?
I see so much discussion about inspections on here and it really seems like something people in less hot markets don’t understand or at least don’t full grasp about places like the Bay Area.
We bought in 2020 with no contingencies so I’m not asking for advice, but just really curious who out there held tight to their inspection contingency and got a home.
I will say every home we looked at provided us with all the disclosures and an inspection the sellers paid for upfront, before even viewing the home. So it was sort of like we had seen everything going on with these houses, we weren’t going in blind. But from this sub, it doesn’t sound like being provided with an inspection upfront is the norm in other markets.
