Better to stage a home or show it empty?

In the process of getting my house ready to list. Big, open concept home. My realtor says to leave the living room and dining furniture, but remove everything else in the house. I’m on the fence about this.. I think I should show it completely empty instead of half staging it (he said take away pillows, decor, paintings, etc). What’s your take on this?
