“If you’re new to the city, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture is an experience you need to put on your Charlotte bucket list,” shares local blogger, content creator, and influencer, Jasmine Rutledge. “Not only is the museum beautiful, it eloquently shares the contributions of African Americans to Charlotte’s rich history. Being a new resident myself, the museum helped me connect to and appreciate the beautiful culture and history of the Queen City.”

Lenny Boy was one of the first breweries in Charlotte and just celebrated their 11th anniversary. 5. Spend a day at the Discovery Place Science
“Discovery Place Science is by far my favorite place to visit in Charlotte,” says personal chef Ross Purple. “There’s always something new with rotating exhibits like The Smithsonian, Dinosaurs ALIVE & Marvel: Universe of Super Hero’s coming in May 2023. If you live in Charlotte, with or without kids, it is a MUST to become a member which includes unlimited free admission, early museum access, discounts at the gift shop, parking, bday, and summer camps & exclusive events, IMAX & Planetarium and one of the Queen city’s best monthly adult social events.”
6. Lose track of time at the Mint Museum
“The Mint Museum, one of the many beautiful places in Charlotte, is a must see attraction. There are two locations, one downtown where you can spend hours looking at art, and another one in Cotswold that is slightly smaller but still worth a visit,” explains Katelyn, a wedding photographer at The Hazel Club. “The Cotswold location has a lovely park and you can have a picnic lunch outside before walking through the gallery. Both locations are also great wedding venues too.”

“If you are looking for a cozy date night and can schedule ahead, you need to book a Speakeasy experience at Supperland Restaurant in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte,” suggests Katie Tinsley, lifestyle blogger at Splash of Chic. “It is a coursed cocktail pairing, with incredible food. 9. Sip on delicious beer at Resident Culture Brewing
“New Charlotteans should check out Resident Culture Brewing in Plaza Midwood or South End,” suggests Becca Wright, Founder and CEO of Piedmont Pennies. “The atmosphere of both locations is quirky, beers are delicious, and the team is friendly and authentic. You’ll find me sipping on a Thunder Stud Double Hazy IPA then a Updog Mojito kombucha. Their motto, ‘Where weird is welcome,’ provides permission for every Charlottean to be themself. 10. Visit the Lazy Five Ranch Zoo
“One can’t-miss Charlotte bucket list item is the Lazy 5 Ranch,” shares local moving company,” Exclusive Movers. “Just outside the city, visitors can drive-thru in their own vehicle and walk around the petting zoo for one price.
