First time seller. I signed on for the typical 6%.

Title, but I sort of feel that I had to do it. My understanding is our selling agent takes the 6% and splits it with the buyers agent. The selling agent basically made it sound like our house wouldn’t be marketable if we didn’t agree to the standard 6%. As in, why would an agent want to show a home they’re not getting their standard 3% on?

NGL… dealing with real estate agents feels dirty… like buying a car… like everyone is in the middle trying to get their hands in my wallet for not much more than nothing.

Any advice for the future? Thoughts? We’re on a 90 day contract. Lastly, I understand people are entitled to a living wage but 6% just seems crazy.
