Anyone ever have a spouse back out of a new house purchase?

We had an agreement in principle, but when it came down to executing the agreement my wife had second thoughts. Rather than try to sell her on it I decided to just call up the realtor and back out. Both my realtor and selling realtor were pissed, but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. We never formally signed anything.

What lessons can I learn from this experience?
